SMASHTOWN ACADIANA VOLLEYBALL CAMPS | Positional Clinics

Smashtown Summer Positional Training provides an opportunity for our campers to train in a chosen position with athletes of similar age and ability. This will be done in a small group setting with age appropriate balls, net height, and technical skills. There will be a focus on simple and efficient techniques to improve your overall efficiency and accuracy in the sport of volleyball. 

SETTERS / MIDDLE BLOCKERS: Hand and Body Positioning, footwork to ball, reps reps reps!, second ball attack (dumping), platform setting and setting against the flow Biomechanics of arm swing, proper transition, attack and blocking footwork for a middle, hitting 1 and 2 tempo sets, managing overpasses from opposing team.

PINS: Biomechanics of arm swing, proper transition, attack and blocking footwork for an outside hitter, attackers toolbelt (line, cross, roll shots, power tips, open hand tips, swipes and high hands), out of system error free attacking . Appropriate for outside and right side hitters.

LIBEROS / DEFENSIVE SPECIALISTS: Comprehensive serve receive technique and reading the server, Defensive positioning , footwork and reading the attack, Secondary setting and ball control, Defensive ground work and emergency moves.
